Nippon Express invests in India´s Future Supply Chain Solutions Limited

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 24 -- Nippon Express Co Ltd, acting through its subsidiary, Nippon Express (South Asia & Oceania) Pte Ltd has agreed to make an investment in India’s Future Supply Chain Solutions Limited (FSC).
The company’s board during its recently-held meeting approved the execution of a Share Subscription Agreement and Shareholder Agreement with FSC and a Share Purchase Agreement with some FSC shareholders.
FSC is among India’s leading logistics service providers and a part of the Future Group, India’s largest retail group.
The Nippon Express Group aims to become a logistics company with a significant presence in the global markets as laid out in the ‘Nippon Express Group Business Plan 2023 - Dynamic Growth’, beginning financial year 2018.
The group’s core strategy is to focus on strengthening its India business to capitalise on the rapid growth expected in the Indian logistics market.
The partnership with FSC will add complementary capabilities to Nippon Express and enable it to provide end-to-end logistics services to its customers, resulting in the growth of its Indian logistics business.

Aviation Week Network returns to Singapore for Asia-Pacific's largest MRO exhibition

Atomwise, Hansoh Pharma launch AI drug discovery collaboration

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 12 -- Atomwise Inc and Hansoh Pharmaceutical Group Company Limited (Hansoh Pharma) have collaborated to design and discover potential drug candidates.

In a statement, Atomwise, an artificial intelligence (AI) for drug discovery leader said the discovery involved up to 11 undisclosed target proteins in multiple therapeutic areas.

Scientific teams from both Atomwise and the China-based Hansoh Pharma will work closely on the programmes.

The combination of complementary expertise and technologies has the potential to dramatically increase success and compress timelines for drug discovery and clinical development.

Under the terms of the collaboration, Atomwise will receive undisclosed technology access fees, option exercise fees, royalties and income based on sub-licensing or sale of assets created under the collaboration.

Meanwhile, Hansoh Pharma will receive rights for development and commercialisation in all fields and geographies.

Milrem Robotics introduces fifth generation THeMIS UGV




KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 10 -- Milrem Robotics, the leading European manufacturer of unmanned ground vehicles (UGV) has introduced the fifth generation THeMIS UGV at DSEI 2019 in London, designed to assist war fighters and enhance combat effectiveness.

The fifth generation THeMIS incorporates all the knowledge gained during tests held in the United States, Europe and the Middle East, among others.

It follows NATO STANAG standards in the vehicle’s architecture, safety, air transportability, power offload and other aspects, according to a statement.

The THeMIS is a multipurpose tracked vehicle that can be equipped with other war-fighting technology such as weapon systems, tethered drones and IED detection devices, among others.

Live firing tests have been conducted with five different weapon systems, including an anti-tank missile launcher.

The first fifth generation THeMIS vehicles have already been delivered to the Netherlands and Norway as logistic platforms intended to carry gear and supplies with an option to be integrated with additional war-fighting equipment.

ExxonMobil partners Porsche to power Formula E series car 2019/2020 season

The new partnership represents ExxonMobil’s first entry into electric motorsports, according to a statement.

Starting from the first race in Saudi Arabia at the end of this year, ExxonMobil will provide Mobil-branded high-performance electric powertrain fluids to Porsche, developed specifically to meet the specialised demands of electric vehicles.

“As Porsche begins to compete and demonstrate the capabilities of its electric vehicle technology, ExxonMobil is engineering a full suite of Mobil-branded lubricants to help the new Porsche Formula E team build on its legacy of racing success around the world,” said ExxonMobil vice-president (finished lubricants), Russ Green.

The new technical partnership joins ExxonMobil’s existing roster of global motorsport activities with Porsche, including the World Endurance Championships, IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, among others.

Vehicles competing in electric motorsports benefit from high-performance lubricant technology that provides specialised advantages needed for the car’s battery pack, including electrical conductivity, cooling capabilities and material compatibility.

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 6 (Bernama) -- Lo, and behold! Art collective teamLab presents a spectacular ‘museum where you move through water’ in Toyosu, Tokyo.

Between Sept 1 and Nov 30, teamLab Planets TOKYO DMM.com (teamLab Planets) changes into an autumnal space.

Visitors are able to experience an artwork space where autumn leaves and chrysanthemums spread out, according to a statement.

The change to an autumnal space takes place in a massive interactive work entitled, Drawing on the Water Surface Created by the Dance of Koi and People - Infinity, where visitors to the museum can walk barefoot through water.

During this three-month period only, the koi that swim across the endlessly expansive surface of the water will change into autumn leaves, chrysanthemums, and other autumn flowers as they collide with museum visitors.

In addition, starting October, a limited-edition menu will be available at the museum’s food stand, featuring the freshest seafood and shellfish, sent directly from Toyosu Market.

Japan Media Arts Distributed Museum Office opens exhibition at 10 locations


KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 6 (Bernama) -- Japan Media Arts Distributed Museum Office has opened the ‘Japan Media Arts Distributed Museum’ exhibition at approximately 10 locations, including airports, in Japan.

The exhibition is part of a new initiative funded by International Tourist Taxes by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, Government of Japan.

As the first endeavor of this initiative, the office started with a large-scale video installation and decorative window art piece, beginning Aug 30, at the New Chitose Airport International Arrivals Concourse, according to a statement.

The exhibition marks the start of a new initiative for visitors to Japan. The artists and creators featured in this exhibition capture the cultural resources borne out of various local cultures through fresh perspectives.

By showcasing the works of media art in places like airports, which serve as gateways to these regions, the office invites visitors to explore the true spirit of the cultures throughout their travel.

The exhibition is displayed within the International Arrivals Concourse, and not available for viewing by the general public. Only passengers arriving on international flights are able to see this exhibition.
